Convenience won’t get you organic reach on Facebook

I am starting to do social media for another account, and what I see currently on their Facebook page are marketing posts for their events that are either sent from their eNewsletter service or reposts of their Facebook Events. In looking at the analysis, they are getting less than 8% of a reach.

It may be convenient to post in this manner, but it will not result in a good reach rate or a likes rate. Please do look at your Insights tab on Facebook to see how your posts are performing.

If the convenient way is not working, is it really convenient then?

Facebook is wanting more authentic posting. The more you can create a post with an uploaded pic or video (instead of simply posting a link), the better off you will be. Links can still be used for people to click on, but you may want to get rid of the populated link information that FB generates and use the uploaded pic or video instead. Test it out for yourself. I find the organic reach significantly increases with the more authentic posting.

Yes, it will take more time, but it works, and that is worth it, right?

Cheers to happy and loyal audiences,
Shoshana

“We had an enormously productive session with Shoshana Fanizza of Audience Development Specialists, discussing both long and short term strategies for marketing, outreach and audience development. In addition to recommending several new strategies, which we plan to incorporate into our marketing and outreach efforts, she showed us ways to refine and enhance what’s already working so that it will reach even further. Shoshana is knowledgeable, prepared and a total professional. We won’t hesitate to call on her again.” —David Srebnik and Cynthia May Listener Directed Productions, Inc – producer of Virtuoso Voices
